Talked to Brendin Today

Brendin left for Brazil today and when his flight stopped in Dallas he gave us a call. We were able to talk to him for quite a while. He sounds great and is having a great time it sounds like. One of his friends from home Tanner Paxman is on the same flight as Brendin. It sounds like there may be 30 other missionaries on his flight from Dallas to Brazil.  He said he cant wait to get to Brazil. He will have a 10 hour flight from Dallas so he should be pretty tired when he gets to Brazil. I posted some of the pictures that he sent me on his blog. 

   

Dustin came for a visit last Saturday with Keith and they went to the Sounders soccer game with Doug and Brian. Dustin and Keith were not here very long they played Wii shuffle board and then left the next morning I didn’t even take any pictures, but Doug did.

Yesterday was my Birthday

I no longer look forward to my birthday, but I had a very nice day anyway. During the day I ran a bunch of errands. I even picked up Brian from the car place were he was getting his car fixed and then we went to the fabric store. My boys have nightmares about the fabric store so the fact that Brian went with me with out a complaint made me think it really was my birthday. Later that night I went to dinner with Doug and Brian. We went to the movies after dinner and saw the movie Limitless. It was a good movie I recommend it. Its one of those movies that you can’t say to much about or you will ruin it for those that have not seen it yet.

Still working on my go fish cards. Melissa emailed me her pictures and I finally took my pictures. I love all the faces. ha ha

I found a plastic case that will fit my cards perfectly. I am having so much fun with this.

Just waiting for the rest of my family to email their pictures. My dad told me last night that he took his pictures but he has to talk Raila into taking her pictures. ha ha. Come on Raila you can do it. Aaron said that he would work on it with his family this weekend.

Sunday was my turn to do Sharing Time in primary. I made a matching game of all the modern day profits. The kids had a good time guessing were the matches were and putting a face with the name of the profits. I have to do sharing time again this Sunday. I need to figure out what I am going to do. I also will be a judge tonight for the scout pinewood derby races, and on Saturday I will be going to a baptism . These last couple of weeks have been busy for me with primary stuff.

Lunch at Grandmas house

Today Cheryl called me up and invited Doug and I to have lunch at Dorene and Dave's house. David Crandall and Shalynna and their baby Oliver, and Denise and Brittany were in town. So it was so nice to have lunch and catch up on what everyone was doing. Brittany's baby Eleanor is so cute. I got to hold her for a little bit at lunch.

Grandma Dorene had fun holding the babies. She looks like she is getting around a little better after her knee surgery. She doesn't have to use her walker anymore.

I couldn't resist a picture of Oliver with his hat on. Shalynna and David were getting ready to leave. Oliver is such a little cutie. Shalynna told me she is having another boy I think in June.

I also got a early birthday present from Denise. She is so thoughtful.

Family go fish cards

I am working on family go fish cards. Here is what I have so far.

I have Brendin’s name on the ones that I printed up. Now all I need is myself and the rest of the family. I can’t wait to see what faces we come up with.

Park Pictures

Today I am taking Doug’s mom to a hair appointment she had knee surgery and is having a hard time getting around. I had a few minutes before I left so I decided to play with my pictures until then. I found some that I took of Brendin before he left for his mission. He thought we were just going for a walk to Marymoor park. He had no idea that I brought my camera with me. What a good son he is to let me take pictures of him we had a fun time. It sure is quiet around here with out him.

Flower and Garden Show

I went to the flower and garden show last week. I didn’t think I was going to be able to go this year but Doug got me tickets from KING 5 TV station. It was so nice to go. It gets you excited for spring and you forget all about winter. I stepped out of the wind, snow, cold, and gloom into a brightly lit, warm room with beautiful flowers that smell so good. The sweet smell of flowers hits you hard as you walk into the room. I love it. Such good medicine for me. I can’t help but to take pictures…It’s what I do. ha ha

This little shed was my favorite of the show.

I liked the glass sculptures in the garden. They are so pretty.

The big thing this year was plants growing on roofs and walls.

Two theme gardens this one is Alice in wonderland. They had the 3 pigs also but I didn’t post pictures of that one.

There is a rabbit in the cage, and pink flamingos.

This is a toad stool table and stools surrounded by lettuce. It was really cool in person.
