Brendin Made it to State

Brendin made it to state in polevaulting. The state meet was at Mount Tahoma in Tacoma. Funny name, but easy to remember.
warming up.

Air force base near by. It was fun to watch the planes fly over.

Two poles were broken during warm ups, and one during the meet. The broken peaces were flying everywhere. Luckily no one got hurt. The temperature was in the 80's and the poles heat up and are a lot more flexible than usual, and are easier to break

Coach Henry giving Brendin tips. Henry graduated from Brendin's school last year and is trying to make it on the UW. polevaulting team. If he makes it Brendin will need a new coach next year.

made 12.6

This is what it looks like to miss 13 feet. Brendin really wanted to do his personal best at the meet, but it didn't work out that way. Brendin is already looking forward to next year. His school will be ordering a new pole for Brendin. He is already training for the decathlon this week. He competes this Friday and Saturday.
A senior from Mead School, in Spokane won State at 15.6. We found out the kid that came in 3rd was LDS. He was ranked to win State but it didn't work out for him. He is also from Spokane area. He came in at 15.0

Messed up on the picture. It is too hard to take it out.

We were in Tacoma and you could see Mt. Rainer from our bleachers, through the bleachers in front of us. Pretty cool.
